Caldwell Cosmetics began in a craft BBQ kitchen in Arizona, where prime brisket trimmings became the unlikely starting point for the cleanest skincare we’d ever made.

While working at a local craft BBQ restaurant in Arizona, our staff became deeply familiar with what makes a great quality brisket. Just as importantly, what makes great quality tallow. Day after day, we watched some of the best beef fat in the country be set aside as a byproduct.
We knew there had to be a better use for it. With a desire to find a more sustainable way to honor our prime grade brisket trimmings, our team began experimenting after hours, rendering small batches, testing recipes, and refining a soothing, creamy tallow balm we actually wanted to use ourselves.
What started as a side project in the back of a restaurant became Caldwell Cosmetics: a small line of skincare made from few, simple ingredients you can actually pronounce, sourced from beef we know by name.

We start with prime grade brisket trimmings from Caldwell County BBQ, the same beef we serve to our guests.

Trimmings are slow-rendered over low heat to gently separate the pure tallow from the meat and connective tissue.
Strain & Whip
Once cooled, the tallow is filtered to a silky finish, then whipped until it turns light, airy, and creamy.
Blend & Jar
We blend in a few simple, natural ingredients and hand-pack each jar, no machines, no shortcuts.
